    The magical phoenix

    India

The phoenix is a mythical and sacred firebird. The phoenix is a unique, sacred, lone, beautiful bird, the only one of its kind. It has shimmering feathers of red and gold, in a display as bright and dazzling as the sun itself. It is the bird of God. The phoenix is an immortal bird. It consumes itself in fire, later to be reborn through its ashes. Only one phoenix can exist at a time, making it solitary. Just like the phoenix, we are passing through the fire that destroys the old life and ways of doing things. Through this painful, confusing time, the phoenix reminds us that we, too, will be reborn from ashes and will ascend into a whole new glorious life cycle. Like the phoenix, we are all individuals who stand apart from the rest, people with rare qualities, triumphing over adversity while rising over the ashes. The phoenix is symbolic of rebirth, hope, purity, chastity, marriage, faith, constancy, summer, eternity, immortality and light. It is also said that it can heal a person with a tear from its eyes and make them temporarily immune to death. The phoenix is a symbol of fire, divinity, and bravery. Throughout the many cultures the phoenix represents high virtue, grace, power, prosperity, strength, peace, purity and life.
