14.05.2009 : Triumph opens first standalone store in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, May 14, 2009: Triumph International India Private Limited, the world’s leading lingerie brand, inaugurated its first standalone store at GVK Mall in Hyderabad’s plush Banjara Hills. Mr. Thorsten Allenstein, Managing Director, Triumph International (India and Sri Lanka) inaugurated the store, which is Triumph’s sixth full fledged standalone store in India. Stocking an exciting range of over 150 internationally available styles including the sloggi range, Triumph now brings a world class lingerie buying experience for every category of women shoppers in the city.

The first-of-its-kind Triumph store in the city is a statement in international styling. Modeled on the lines of Triumph international stores across the world, the store at GVK Mall is done up in white with red accents with an appealing European-style wooden flooring that exude warmth. As soon as you step into the store, its peaceful ambience engulfs you, promising a leisurely browsing experience. With over 150 styles to choose from, the store promises an exciting lingerie buying experience. To further enrich this experience, Triumph has specially trained its all-women staff at par with international standards to give individual attention to customers depending on their varying needs. The staff helps the customer select the right fit and style from the vast range of Triumph’s international designs available for the first time in India through their standalone stores.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Thorsten Allenstein, Managing Director, Triumph International (India and Sri Lanka), remarked, “After the launch of Triumph’s exclusive stores in Mumbai, New Delhi and Gujarat, we are pleased to inaugurate our flagship store here. This is our seventh standalone store in the country and it’s a pleasure for us to mark our presence in this vibrant city. We plan to open about 10 more flagship stores and about 50 standalone stores in the country by the end of this year. Through our retail expansions we are now firmly entrenched in the Indian lingerie market and we are proud that Indian women are enjoying our exclusive styles and perfect fits without a compromise on quality. Thanks to 100 years of our experience and success, we are fortunate to offer lingerie for every age and occasion. This standalone store here will only widen the Triumph range, stocking many Triumph styles that were not available in the city earlier.”

Inspired by its success in various multi-brand outlets and standalone stores, Triumph felt the time was ripe to introduce its valuable customers in Hyderabad to a wide variety of international styles. Indian women got the initial taste of the world-class ‘lingerie buying experience’ through Triumph’s standalone store in Mumbai inaugurated last year. Since then, Triumph has been on an expansion spree. Ahmedabad was the next city to get a Triumph standalone store after which Triumph opened an uber chic flagship store in New Delhi. Triumph also opened its second flagship store in Mumbai and a standalone store in Delhi, respectively, last week. Now with its presence in Hyderabad, Triumph is all set to take lingerie buying to the next level with its new store at the largest shopping centre in the city. Interestingly, Triumph continues its expansion plans in full spree in the face of economic slowdown when others in the industry are resorting to cost-cutting measures. In line with its marketing strategy for India, Triumph has set up a state-of-the-art technology plant in Tamil Nadu. The company is keen on expanding its retail footprint in India and is looking at reaching customers in Tier I and Tier II towns. Triumph has already marked its presence in India through 700 ‘points of purchase’ in multi-brand stores across 60 cities in the country. About 95 per cent of the lingerie industry in India is unorganized and Triumph has a 34 per cent share in the organized lingerie market. This gives Triumph a vast opportunity to further tap the market and expand its base in India.
