Yesterday the Triumph Inspiration Award, the international lingerie design competition, was announced in Hungary!
This year's theme is very interesting: Dragons & Butterflies and the idea of contrasts, where the East and the West meet, and the year of the dragon... The final will take place in Shanghai, which is usually called the “Paris of The East”.
The competitors are students from fashion schools, who have not yet graduated. To prepare for the Hungarian competition we will be going into schools which have a design faculty, to give the students there first-hand information about the terms and conditions and to answer their questions about the competition. I also took part in the first step of the application process when we announced the contest in the KREA Contemporary Art School. I had the honour of helping the students by telling them about my experience last year.
As I also attend this school, I took part in the application process with great pleasure, supporting my schoolmates and helping them to apply and take part in this great adventure.
Just like last year, Channel TV2 follows the competition, and this time viewers can follow the competitors' progress from time to time in show “Highheels” with Barbara Orosz. Barbara was there yesterday as well and she talked to the students about their ideas.
The application process will continue and we will carry on visiting schools and encouraging students to apply and take part in the competition.
Usually I am of the opinion that if somebody participates in a contest, they should fight for the best place and shouldn't reassure themselves with the idea that it is not the winning, but the taking part that matters. This time, however, I can honestly say that the competition itself is really worth participating in, because the organizers dedicate a lot of time and attention to the students and give them a lot of professional support.
For the students, it’s such a huge opportunity for development and a chance to gain significant professional experience. Without a doubt, everyone can enrich their career in some way by taking part.
