In considering the woman and the act of celebration, the struggle between the superficiality of appearance and strength of self was explored through the experience of breast cancer, identifying powerful images and emotions that bring us together in a celebration of womanhood. Not only a symbol of her loss of breasts and grief she has experienced, but one of new found identity - her skin is no more a reflection of herself than the peel is of an apple.
