I wanted to create an image of “transformation”, based on old pictures of my mother but I also had a ‘street couture’ image in mind, a clash of aesthetics. I wanted to create a silhouette based on the contrast between classical elements which represent my mother, and more experimental, larger-then-life shapes, prints and fabrics. With my mother at the core of my design, I tried to combine elements of this rich history of lingerie.
