"Hezarfen"
“Looking at the city with the eye of God”. Hezârfen Ahmed Çelebi was a legendary aviator in 17th-century Istanbul, who was thought to have achieved sustained unpowered flight. I wanted to inspire women to be like her: you never know how brave a woman can be until she believes in herself and takes that next step. I created a woman’s figure, standing straight with her wings, based on Hezârfen leaving behind all of her restrictions by flying.
