I had my first meeting with the Triumph design team over the course of a three days: 7th-9th September.

This meeting in Heubach was the most important part of my journey so far, as I had the chance to discuss my plans and designs and agree on any changes. I must confess I was very excited… the only thing bigger than my excitement was my curiosity.

As soon as I arrived in Munich we continued our journey to Heubach, the hometown of Triumph, with a very nice employee from the company. Imagine a little German town with only one hotel, where most of the hotel guests are Triumph employees who are only in town for a business meeting. For 125 years the life of the little town - famous for its clean and healthy air – has revolved around lingerie production. Johann Gottfried Spiesshofer and Michael Braun set up their corset manufactory here in 1886 with only six sewing machines. The old building is still standing and it’s part of the modern building complex – to remind people of the how the factory operated in the early days.

Edith Bernard, the company’s chief designer from Hong Kong, her co-worker and the brand managers all came to Heubach for the design meeting. We were all curious about what was in Edith’s bag, as it was everyone’s first time seeing the prototype that had been created from my initial design.

A very nice surprise was waiting for me after the introduction: they had put the lingerie on a dress-stand and covered it with sheet. Just like a sculpture unveiling, the designer pulled off the sheet and revealed the first version of the prototype... It was a big honor that one of my sketches had been completely approved and made into a prototype.

During the meeting I had the chance to agree on the changes that would be made to the materials, colors and decoration of the commercial piece.I really enjoyed working together with the team, I benefited so much from their professionalism.

Unfortunately I can’t say more about the lingerie right now…it has to be kept in secret, but it will definitely be beautiful…like in my dreams…
